Summer 2023 update!
It’s been a while! Can’t quite believe how time flies! The last 3 years have been incredibly busy. I managed to finish a cello during the first lockdown. I enjoyed making it, it helped me focus and cope with all the changes. Going forward, just before Christmas 2022, I made a 5 string violin for the wonderful Iain Fraser. It really took me out my comfort zone. I had to think things through and thanks to my violin making colleagues and friends from all around the world, I was delighted with the finished instrument.
I made a Guadagnini violin, Turin period. This instrument found a home with the talented Chloe Dickens who is doing a post grad at Queens College NYC. This instrument has brought me two new commissions for 2024, based on the same model (pictures of the instrument and a small video of Chloe playing are on the website).
I am currently working on a Golden Period Strad model for a professional musician in Glasgow. Hoping to complete by the end of September, early October.
In February of this year at the BVMA in London, I was lucky enough to have my Guarneri violin and Maggini viola picked for the lunch time concert with the inspirational Kreutzer Quartet. The violin can be heard on my website in instrument sounds (first violin Kreutzer Quartet).
Back in the workshop early September, rested and ready to go!
