Summer Update!
Just finished a Lord Wilton Guarneri 1742 for a client in the Ayrshire area of Scotland. I really enjoyed making this, challenging violin to make, but a delight nevertheless. The client chose a beautiful one piece back (photographs to follow). Currently working on another Guarneri, a Kreisler copy, for a client in the RSNO. I’m just about to varnish it, so looking forward to that.
I’m in the process of moving from Perthshire to North Berwick in East Lothian. I’ve had my city period, my country period, and now my final period, by the sea. It’s been a long held dream to live there and I hope to make some inspired copies of classic Italian instruments. Look forward to seeing customers in a new setting, bring your dog and bucket and spade!
I’ll be exhibiting at the Amati Exhibition in London at the Langham Hotel in October. It runs for two days, Friday 20th October and Saturday 21st October. Not sure what will be on display yet, I’ll confirm at a later date. I thoroughly enjoyed it last year, catching up with colleagues and friends and seeing what the latest contemporary makers are up to!
