Matteo Goffriller Cello – Venice 1692
Matteo Goffriller (1659–1742) was a Venetian luthier, particularly noted for the quality of his cellos. Goffriller was the founder of the “Venetian School” of luthiers, during a time when Venice was one of the most important centers of musical activity in the world.
Matteo Goffriller Cello
Some of the best cellos in the world came out of Venice during this period, and this one is no exception. The model I make has a big, booming C string, a nice even tone over the G and D and a beautiful, strident A string
